Treatment Procedures
The Manchester General Surgeon offers a wide range of surgical interventions and procedures that can be used to treat various conditions. We use the most advanced, minimally invasive techniques to treat your condition. Because of the increasingly specialist nature of all surgery, we tend to divide general surgery into a number of sub-specialties. The below provides and overview of the main procedure types with a link to further information for each.
General Surgery
General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on alimentary canal and abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. Wikipedia

Endoscopy Surgery
An endoscopy is a procedure where the inside of your body is examined using an instrument called an endoscope. An endoscopy can be used to investigate unusual symptoms and help to perform certain types of surgery.

Gallbladder Surgery
Gallbladder removal surgery, also known as a cholecystectomy, is a very common procedure. You don’t need a gallbladder, so surgery to take it out is often recommended if you develop any problems with it
